Churchill Arms
"London's most festive pub"
This is an amazing place that I have seen because it is known as “London’s most festive pub” as they light it up like the neighbor’s house in Deck the Halls. I got lucky when I went because it looks like the lights went up a day or two before I happened to be there. The lights are something special, it’s the same sort of Christmas vibe you get from Temple bar in Dublin, except with a little less of the crowds of tourists. Not to say it isn’t busy though.
While the Christmas theme both inside and out of the pub was the main attraction at this time, the pubs interior still kept its character, as the decorations remain on the wall, just behind the strings of lights. The pub is dedicated to Winston Churchill, hence the name “Churchill arms” (crazy right). So the insides are completely decked out in fascinating memorabilia from his life, including lost of war related portraits and artifacts which are very cool to see. It is almost like a museum, that happens to sell beer by the truckload, which I think needs to become more common in all museums. I would love to have a bud light in hand while staring at the statue of David in Florence. Or a white claw to help get me through the wait to see the Mona Lisa. That couldn’t go wrong.
The Guinness here was alright, nothing notable about it, would drink it here but it definitely isn’t making a list of the top places for a pint.
I would like to come back here when it isn’t in its Christmas mood to check it out. This place would be an insanely cool local pub when it isn’t flooded with people.
